A sparkly smile has a profound effect on how young you look. A whiter and brighter smile that reveals even teeth and a healthy, gleaming pink gum line can take ten years off of your true age.

With cosmetic dentistry, we can make your smile light up a room when you enter it. Through different procedures, we’ll create that beautiful smile you’ve been dreaming about. With whitening, veneers, implants, crowns and bridges, we can change an average smile into a brilliant one.

Natural-looking alternatives such as advanced metal-free crowns, veneers, bridges, and inlays/onlays look, feel and function like your own teeth, allowing us to conserve as much of the natural tooth as possible. And, did you know that cosmetic dentistry might plump out the wrinkles and lines on the lower third of your face without surgery?

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry states that nine out of 10, or 92.5 percent of Americans agree that an attractive smile is an important social asset.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers produce great smiles. Teeth which have been stained, chipped, cracked or otherwise damaged, can look beautiful with this strong and durable technique.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges, as well as implants with modern, natural-looking materials can close very wide gaps and restore function, appearance, and the proportion of your smiling face.

If more than half of your tooth has been restored with a filling, a crown is necessary. Without adequate support, the tooth may break away around the filling. As a rule, when fillings get larger, teeth become weaker. That is why a crown is necessary. A crown covers the entire tooth and holds it together. Crowns are used when large fillings wear out, when a tooth is cracked, or when cosmetic improvements must be made on teeth.

Bridges replace missing teeth with artificial teeth, look great and literally bridge the gap where one or more teeth may have been. They fill the unsightly spaces left by missing teeth.

Mini-Smile Makeovers

Creating a beautiful smile doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll need a mouth full of porcelain veneers. Often, Dr. Althoff can rejuvenate a smile by focusing on a few problem teeth using minimally invasive and less costly dental procedures such as composite bonding in combination with cosmetic whitening. Creating a major transformation while preserving more natural tooth structure can be accomplished economically!

Full-Mouth Makeovers

In some cases, a full-mouth rejuvenation is necessary to create the smile you desire. Full smile makeovers can involve a variety of cosmetic techniques: porcelain veneers, crowns, composite bonding, cosmetic tooth whitening, dental implants or bridges. After a complete examination of your mouth, Dr. Althoff will talk to you about your options and help you make the best decision for your smile.

Composite Bonding

A less expensive and less invasive remedy than crowns or veneers, composite bonding is an effective technique used to improve the appearance of your teeth. Bonding is ideal for masking teeth that are chipped, cracked, stained or injured. Composite bonding can even be used for reducing gaps between teeth. During the procedure, a delicate layer of plastic is painted onto the damaged teeth, adding strength and making them virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Composite bonding is a quick process, typically lasting less than an hour. Compared to veneers or crowns, it is a popular choice because it does not reduce the tooth’s original structure. Composite bonding is also relatively inexpensive. Composite resins are available in many different shades. The shade can be chosen to match the natural color of the original tooth.

Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures can take the place of missing natural teeth. Dentures allow patients to chew and speak more easily while improving their appearance and boosting self-confidence. Full dentures are used when all of a patient’s teeth need to be replaced. Partial dentures are used when only a few teeth are missing. In either case, dentures can help you look and feel your best. Ask Dr. Althoff about metal-free flexible partials.

Whitening of Teeth

Over time, teeth can lose their brightness and become discolored from drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes and from the inevitable process of aging. No matter what age you are, brighter white teeth will transform your appearance and make you look more attractive and feel more confident. Southpointe Dental offers two convenient whitening techniques:

  1. Custom whitening trays can be sent home for daily application of prescription strength whitening gel. Using the system for 30-45 minutes a day will help you obtain a dazzling smile in 1- 2 weeks.
  2. The convenient “In-Office Tray Whitening” technique also uses custom fitted whitening trays. They are placed in your mouth to give brighter, whiter teeth in one office visit. The trays are then sent with you to allow you to customize the degree of whitening with our “at home” whitening gel.
